New Video Card upgrade

Ok guys..maybe I said it a long time ago, but I am in the market into buying a new video card for my system. I currently have a fx 5500 at 256mb. And I want something faster to play my games in high settings. I fell in love with Ages of Empires III and I wanna be able to view the beautiful graphics this game offers. So I been viewing some video cards but the thing I can't figure out is how much volts the cards I viewed need to run. My current mobo has an 8x AGP slot with 1.5v. So what kinda card, a faster one, would I need to run it into my mobo. Cause I don't wanna messup my hardware in my computer. Highest you can go is X850PTE 256mb AGP 8x, or a 6800Ultra 256mb 8x agp.

 

You didn't post your system specs, but generally speaking an nVidia 6600 GT or a 6800.

In my opinion, a 6800 GT is overpriced, and make sure (if it's the 6600) that you get the GT. Also, do not get a SE or LE model as they aren't as powerful.

Anyone of these chips can play any current game.

 

Thankyou guys for your post so a 6600gt it is. Also I have a P4 3.0ghz Prescott at 800mhz fb and 1gig of pc3200. I think that should be enough to run games, but it's nothing with a nice video card. Thanks once again for your post. If anyone has more info feel free to let it out. Thanks!!!
