New w/question on a dwnload.

Hi! I don't know if this is where I'd post this but in order to avoid posting in the wrong spot, I figured I'd start here. I need a program to unzip files. I used to have one on my pc but due to some probs (long story) I no longer have it. I don't remember which program I had (I think Cam Unzip, maybe?) but looking on this site I found Star Downloader. I'm wondering if it's actually what I need? I've never seen that program before so I would like to be sure it's what I'm looking for before installing it. Any advice? Thanks, in advance!

 

Hi Nichole77, and welcome to MGs Here's a link to a free program to unzip files http://www.majorgeeks.com/7-Zip_d4603.html It is one of the better ones out there. It'll handle almost any format you may run across, including RAR. I've been using it for the longest time and it works great. Hope this helps!!

 

Cool, can I ask advice on one more thing? I need a prg. to "undelete" my sd card that I stupidly formatted. I found several that I can try but in order to completely recover I have to pay for them. I'm not against that, but I don't want to pay for a useless prg. and I'd also rather not have to buy a prg. that I may never use again. Any suggestions? Thanks again.

 

if youre looking at a .zip file, assuming youre using windows, the operating system comes with winzip already. all you have to do is open the zip file and click extract all. otherwise, what stubby suggested is your best bet.
