Well that time is upon us once again. A new year and new goals and ambitions are waiting to be discovered...or something:major . I hope 2008 was a good year for everyone. I know I got a few welts on my mind to signify my accomplishments over the year. I went from running the streets to getting in to college somehow to network admin and i dont plan on stopping. it saved my life. 2009 for me will be a time to kick my career in the *** and get some more momentum. My resolution is to get my ccna and mcse, get a job that will give me the field experience, and buy a house out of state.

    How about you guys?

Be safe this New Year's eve everyone. and by that i mean party hard as hell with beer and whatnot. ;)

I'm a New Years Resolution scrooge. I don't believe in them.

My philosophy is if you believe you should or shouldn't be doing something it should have nothing to do with New Years.

    Just do it. :)

Dont like some of the others here have new year resolutions but I do have some goals or tasks I wish to complete most years, next year is getting around to finding a flat/apt in city, now that prices are lower maybe easier to do time permitting.

Last year or this current year, I achieved a fair bit, not all I wanted to do but in work I managed to get through loads of work and even had a medical paper I helped work on published on The franklin Institutes Journal ~ Science Direct, also now a major part of a medical clinic in which patients suspected of eye disease are sent in and I'm first port of call for them so do Q&A, and imaging tests, dignosis.... not bad for a non-medic. Oh and gained for the 2nd time a Microsoft MVP award.

Wish you well on your goals this coming year Steve.

Cheers guys, I feel that we all in some small way each year achive even one thing that we can be proud of, even if via a forum like this its helping someone fix their PC, helping a neighbour or friend, to helping a stranger, to also just ticking off one of those ToDos from the list.

I used to have and make a one goal resolution, but after doing this for many years and not actually achiveing them I gave up, if folk as me on New Years Eve what my resolution is, my reply is..... to be happy & healthy.

But I just love the New Years resolution of dieting!!!! many buy excersise equip in sales, join gyms and by end of Jan thats all out of the window and excersise equip is on eBay :)

    Think ShelaghRoyale has is right.

Mine is the same each year and the easiest to keep

Not to make a New Years Resolution.

I simply follow the golden rule, works for me :)

Fred_G resolves to be greedy. I need more money! Possible options are moving to Texas, or possibly to PA.

Nothing is even close to final, but I am leaning towards moving west... Not near as much $$$, but regular hours. We shall see. :-D

Like some of the others above, I believe if a resolution is worth doing, it's worth doing all year, and immediately, so I don't really do New Year resolutions as such. Maybe I be a bit more introspective about the past year, but that's about all.

The difference between setting New Years resolutions and achieving them is usually setting a target date for the achievement. A resolution without a date is only a wish. With a date, it becomes a goal to achieve. Bazza
