newbie here, virus help

hey just a n00b here. i need a nice trojan/virus/worm scanner for personal use. any recommendations of ones that work very well. list off 5 if you know em. thanks.

 

For anti-spyware, I rely on Spybot 1.2 and Ad-aware 6.0, but I also run ASEScanner from Aluria (all freeware). My ISP also runs a SpyBlocker and it appears that each is complementary to the others, though I'm sure there is overlap in what they detect.

For anti-virus, I run PC-cillin from TrendMicro. You can make a free housecall at:

I was lucky, no viruses when I tried housecall, then they offered 20% off and I bought it along with the CD and free downloads for a year. Since Sept 19th, they have updated both the engine and pattern files about 15 times almost always detecting new trojans, viruses, worms, etc. PC-cillin runs as a realtime scanner, although, I have found that it is best to turn it off when I download, then start it up after the download completes.

I use Norton AV 2003. Im not sure how many people may like it here as i just joined this forum, but Norton has been great for me. Everyone has there opinions and i see nothing wrong with it. I have found viruses that people said it couldnt find, i just make sure it stays up to date.
