newbie needs dvd burning help

    i know this is a stupid question,but i just finally got a dvd burner.i have a 3 gig vob i want to make into a dvd with nero.the thing is,i only have 1 gig free.do i have to have 3 gigs on my hard drive free to make that 3 gig vob a dvd?sorry im soignorant about this:eek:

    Unfortunately, , you need twice the free space as the item being copied.- you might get lucky if you copy direct from a dvd drive to a dvd burner, without holding the copy on your hard drive, but it really needs the disk space.
    Also you need a burning program, like Nero, or, one of the free ones.

    Yeah- baklogic is correct. DVD burning/authoring is a space hungry process. It's generally recommended to have a minimum of 7gb free space (10gb for best results) when messing with DVD's, .vob's, .iso's, .avi's, and the lot of 'em....

    If you want to burn dvd's , I suggest you either get a larger hard drive, or,-- a second hard drive, and set it up as a slave drive to the first drive, then you will have plenty of space for burning.
