    I have an extremely old laser printer witch has a parallel connection and would like to use it on a home-built

    Computer=Asus prime B250-Plus motherboard with Win10 installed.

    Laser printer=Newgen Designxpress 12

    Can this be done?

    It can be done with a parallel to USB cable.
    But I doubt your printer is Windows 10 compatible.

    I agree with Eldon. If that printer does not have Windows 10 drivers (or at least W8), it probably is not worth the effort to even try. And sadly, it does not even look like that company is in business any more.

    From what I can find, it is possible that his printer - Design Express, Design XP 6 and the Design XP 12 are all using the Canon BX II engine,
    or, even Fuji/Xerox 8/16, or, fuji/xerox ninja a3
    So, if you really want to keep that printer, it may be possible to try drivers for those- HP4V. HP4MV, Epson EPL-9000
    However,
    If you get the cable........
    One possibility, is to try Driver booster, from Iobit, It is very good
