News on Longhorn

Has anyone seen http://www.***********.com/news/posts/1081551191.html For some reason the *********** won't come out in the url. Just subsitute *********** for the astericks.

 

Got "This page cannot be displayed" message. Tried a couple of times. Must be a lot busy.

Yea, and I still am running 98SE, so don't know whether to wait or buy XP now, which I had been planning to do until this came out.

 

In one of the MS online chats (when I still used to attend those things) a year ago or so a couple of the delopment team guys on Longhorn were doing a Q&A. Typical MS stuff "It'll be the best thing since _________ (insert surpurlative of your choice here) and revolutionize the industry." YadaYadaYada. But Buried inside a couple of the answers were intimations that Number One: It should be called Hoghorn for the Gigs of space it occupies and Number two: that, once again, MS is trying to be all things to all people(screensavers? YES, lots! Themes? Of course! extraneous BS? You bet!) Granted, that was the infamous MS Chat Channel and thus subject to overwhelming enthusiasm and little information, but when I heard recently that Longhorn keeps getting pushed farther and farther away and losing more and more of it's ballyhooed "features", I wasn't surprised a bit.

edit: I'd say go ahead and buy XP, Houndman. It's a good OS.

 

Thanks guys. BTW BillH, the Greyhound is not a doggie, but a Naval Destroyer. No problem though, maybe I should find a new name. Now if I could just get that address to print out in the post.

See all those astericks SportsNut, that is where I put the addrss, even typed out just the name without the extension and it still will not show up. Have no idea why.... Maybe like Halo said, one of the Mods can figure it out, but he did give a place to go and see it anyway.

 

I know the place and its censored because they plagurised MajorGeeks in some way I *think* in the past... but I may be wrong.

 

Guess I won't post anythiing from there again.
