NHL 2004 won't go

Hello:

I have a legal NHL2004 & when I instal, it doesn't run. It loads up, but is frozen at that point. Have to use task manager to get out. There's a ghost image in the upper left that says "Back to Main menu" but it is inert like the rest.

Somewhere in there I get a "script error - won't run this page" but doesn't change anything.

Had it going before, but due to other circumstanses, I had to wipe my drive & start again. Can't remember how I had it going before.

I'm on WindowsXP Home Edition, have a P4 3.4GHZ machine with 2GB of ram & use a NVidia 7600 GS AGP 512MB video card.

My visus detector is AVG & firewall is from Microsoft.

I have other EA Sports games & they all run; not this one right now.

Need help.
