NIC driver problem

Hello everyone!

If yall could help me, it would be great. Since my warranty is out thru hp, I have to pay hp 50 bucks to help me and the free web chat isnt working. Surprise, surprise.

What I have is a HP Pavilion Desktop run on XP home edition. I keep getting an error message when my computer goes into stand by. It tells me that the my Via Rhine ii Fast Ethernet Adapter Packet Scheduler Miniport is preventing my machine from entering stand by. Then it tells me to close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, I need to update this driver. So I tried.

I went into my device manager and looked for updates and hardware changes. I didn't find any. I rolled back the driver. It didn't help ether. I googled the Ethernet Adapter and got some interesting stuff but it didn't help. I know its a minor problem but it just so happens to correlate with last week's XP update.

Why cant I get into stand by mode?? It cant be a good thing.
Anyone had this happen?
Any advice??

Go into your Device Manager, click the little plus sign next to Network Adapters, right click the VIA Ethernet Adapter and select Properties. Look at the screenshots I have attached below. That should help
