nic drivers please

ok so here is the story i went to grandmas house found a bunch of junk on pc from little cousins and nieces and what not who use the pc for downloading crap filled with viruses . So then i ran numerous security and malware and virus programs but could not figure out what was screwing up the pc so i debugged and installed xp on it so i wiped out the hard drive and now im screwed i have most drivers but no nic lan drivers ...and its not plug and play and its a integrated on the motherboard and well they have no internet thx to me rolleyes

so thats where i m at now i called the gateway but they said only drivers they have are on the website and they don t have nic drivers so can anyone please please help me i know its first post and all but please help me out ..dont wanna look like the idiot who screwed up grams pc lol... too late? lol

Click on this link and when that page opens, click the red "Download Now". Then double click the file called D00447-001-001.exe to install the drivers. Reboot when it finishes.

i installed those drivers and for some reason it is still not recognizing the nic ....

still no luck...any other advice ?

According to Gateway, the motherboard has an NVidia chipset. The nVidia chipset drivers have a bunch of drivers bundled together including the ethernet. Try this directly from nVidia:
