Nice job on the Master Geek Tribe server

I'd like to commend you on the great job on the Tribe server. I've tested it on DSL, Cable, and Wireless and it is Smokin!

As far as the bitchin goes, yeah I may do it during game play sometimes, but what are ya gonna do? Theres no reason to bite the hand that feeds you. Im an old timer on Tribes, and know what you are talking about concerning team-play being the focus. To me it makes the game much more fun than just going after kill points.

I also noticed a recent thread where you mentioned that the server account has been closed.Not that I am here to change your mind but........

1) You provide a service for us old timers that isn't out there anymore-decent base servers.

2) I came to your site because of the advertisement from the server. And guess what? No matter what you decide to do, I'm still gonna buy something from here.

3) I have been talking the game up in other forums. There is no reason this thing game could not make some sort of a comeback. More people on the server means possibly more people here. [just remind them who the server marm is


I realize that ultimately it could be a money thing, or you are just tired of dealing with brats that don't know how to lose with curtesy and style. What ever your decision is, thanks for keeping the server up as long as you have......

LoL, ya, theres plenty of other quality servers out there for MUCH cheaper.

 

I would happily donate money to keep the server up.

Its a BOX hes renting that cost that much... Yes you can rent WHOLE boxes. What is a box (you may be asking) ??? Well a box is just a computer thats dedicated to whatever you need. U can connect to it and its pretty much like logging into a windows computer. You can see/control almost every aspect of it. They are usually on a 10/100 bit connection and u typically get 2-3 terabytes of bandwidth a month, or 2-3000 gigs. Some only have 1000 or even less, but the price is about average. If you go over that bandwidth usage, u get it stuck to you in VERY unpleasant ways.

Now....your typical tribes server of 22 players running at almost full capacity will take up about 200 gigs a month I believe. Prol less. So, bandwidth does take a little consideration.

Well, anyways, that is your explination of a box, and what hes paying 250 $ a month for ) Nice if you can afford it, but expensive.

hello To all major geek peps Great Job with the Tribes Server. I know I have had alot of fun playin here I am also willin to pay 5 to 10 dollars a month as well
I aslo think that their are other loyal tribes players as well I have been playin
this game since 98. I really just dont play any other games as well. I am really

It was a damn good server while it lasted, despite not being more anti-cheating/hacking, but during it's run, it was the only base server I'd ever goto when it wasn't full, since 80% of the time, it's always full and I'd just come back and try to join at a later time. There are only a few base servers left, majority of them with only a 10-12 player limit. That's one of the main reason I loved MG, it's 30 player support. Yeah T1 is an old game, but still a great game if 500+ people play it a day, I see noobs getting online everyday!

So to you guys who created, paid for, and ran the server, I give a big THANK YOU. If there's any sort of donation fund to bring back the server, I'm more than willing to give a small sum . Maybe next time, it can be more anti-cheating/hacking, I know of many names that should be on the perma-ban list for that offense.

 

I would like to thank Major Attitude and the others as well. I had a lot of fun on that server also.

They had an Anti-cheating server and hardly anyone used it unfortunately.

I believe I am going to rent a server for Tribes 1 so people can still play it. However, I want to make it so that on like 2 days a week you will not be able to go to a CTF game, or vote one in for the minority who would really like to play something other than the same 5 CTF maps over and over.

What do you guys think?

'99 .... and on MG server the last year....Tribes 1 still rules

I would have dumped the server too, 250 a month and not have even played for the last six.

Thanks for such a great server, I really enjoyed playing on it.

It may be time to bring up United States Server again, ill be pondering over it for the next few days. Everyone told me we had the best pings Next to MajorGeeks.
