Thought some of you MajorGeeks might like to have a play with this.

Have a gander at it, or get it here.

    Regards,
    Jade.

    *haven't tried it myself :) .

    Hi Abby :) .

Actually, I didn't know I could do that.....thanks for the heads up.
I have a suggestion: Next time I find an interesting application/program, how about I send the required info to the "submit download" page as stated, and then post the info and where to download it here in the message board as well, until it is included in Majorgeeks Downloads......or am I making this too complicated :D ?.

    Many regards,
    Jade.

Ok dumb question here, exactly what will this do for me? Improve performance?

Index.dat files are simple text files that Windows uses to store all kinds of history and links, most of it not needed long-term. And those files grow over time (Windows adds to them, but never removes old data), some become huge and are normally untouchable and un-delete-able directly throuth Windows. Since Windows does inded waste some time reading the longer .dat files, cleaning them out can speed things up slightly, and cleans up some disk space. Can also remove links to old embarrassing content if you've had some of that on your puter.

Won't make a huge difference, but can help some.

That's what I thought by looking at the files found on my system but I did wish to make certain before I started deleting them. Thanks G.T. for the information.

I don't understand the inner workings of computers particularly well. Is there much difference in what Index.dat Suite does and the cleaner I have been using?? Site attached.
