that is might be true, but it sure allows you to look in far better places than I currently can.

same can be said about happiness. Money might not buy happiness, but it does an awesome job of renting it :-D

It would be great do have the money to make your dreams come true, for a while but once you've experienced your dreams they are no longer things you can look forward to.

That's one of the misgivings I have with having a limitless amount of money, what if after having everything you've ever wanted, experienced everything that's cool in the world lived life to the MAX your still not happy?

I think that's why so many sports stars and celebrities go off the rails especially is they find fame young, they'll probably never do anything again in their life that will come close or surpass it.

Like my dad always says though "I'll try it and tell you."

    Chin up T...

Awe, Tony, you must take it easy, and take your time getting back to your normal activities. That was some MAJOR surgery you had, and the body just doesn't bounce back like it used too. It will take time, yes. Just pace yourself.

Good idea, give the mind something else to do! LOL hang in there. ;)

My father once said "Money can't buy you happiness . . . but it can curtail or enable you to outright avoid many unhappiness causing events and situations."

Ok - somebody nice send me ten million dollars and I'll test this theory and get back with you in a few years.

"Money cannot buy you happiness, but it does perhaps, buy a better standard of misery." ~(Winston Churchill);)

I don't know about that, Rikky - I can imagine a LOT!:-D I can 'prolly imagine more than I would literally have time to spend in what's left of my lifetime. (I mean realistic things and endeavours, not golden castles and crap like that).

Never met anyone homeless on the street who was happy. Unless they were that psychotic they didn't care, anyway.:-D

I rally hope that you're feeling much better soon, Tony. Take it easy. :)

I am in the same situation Tony.

I had my hip replaced in February and on April 1st (not an April fool stunt i appreciated)the femur broke just below the new hip so it was back to the surgeon for another operation and to top that i was back in hospital yesterday to have some screws and pins taken out of my left leg and knee and now i have a caliper on for 3 weeks.

So i know exactly how you feel, the frustration of not being able to do the things you take for granted is enormous.

I hope you start to feel better soon.

Yeah, money is a dangerous thing in the hands of many people.

Not good on the ops and replacements, Bill. I hope that there's some end in sight to the pain and lack of mobility. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Money might not be able to buy me happiness, but I'd much rather cry in a Ferrari than on the bus... :kissmy

My personal take is, whoever says "money can't make you happy" and genuinely believes it, has never actually been without it. No, it might not make you happy, but being without money sure as **** makes life deeply miserable. Anyone who has ever had to go to the welfare office to beg for help with the rent, power bill, and phone bill, knows what I mean. When you don't know for sure if you'll be able to cover the bare necessities of life, they take over. They rule your mind and they ruin everything. When you stand in the grocery store and find yourself doing math in your head three times over to make absolutely sure that you will be able to afford both the toothpaste and the deodorant, praying you got the numbers right so your card won't decline on check-out, you have no energy left for any pleasantries or happiness, and that includes family and friends.

Money can't buy happiness. Sure. Whatever. But it most definitely can keep misery and depression at bay, as long as you have enough of it to live, as opposed to just staying alive.
