Nintendo recalls Wii controller straps

I noticed this hasn't been reported on Way Off Base so I figured everyone should know about this since there were links before about the damage the breaking straps have done.

I read about this the other day. A string that's three times thicker should help, but people will still end up breaking things by flailing their arms, or testing the durability of the new string. Apparently there are a lot of butterfingered people out there. The strap isn't meant for holding a thrown remote!

 

Just got this off of Nintendo's site. They will be shipping the straps on December 21st. Oh boy!

I've promised my boy a Wii for Christmas.

Now it's "I can hardly wait to play with my Wii" and "I'm going to play with my Wii every day". Who came up with the name for this sucker anyhow
