    As the thread title stated, I am running NIS 2004, and keep receiving these darned alerts.

    I keep blocking the intrusions, but I haven't had these alerts in all the time i've run NIS... Just as of late.

    Some times about 10 an hour, but they one after the other... like they are scanning more than 1 port (same IP adress)

    any help, will be much appreciated ;)

    I find NIS keeps the ads out...And i have no problems (lately) getting online.

    My problem (maybe i should have left the word POPUP out). Is that i keep getting Program Control/High Risk alerts stating a remote system is attempting to access my computer.

    Why, here comes one now!

    Date: 06/05/2004
    Protocol: TCP(inbound)
    Remote Address: 69.195.70.131 :4945
    Local Adress: 69.195.215.188: http: (80)
    Location: Home

    You will ALWAYS get port scans, but if you get port scans from the same IP CONSISTANTLY, then I would report it to your ISP along with any logs of the activity.

    The remote address appears to be:
    cpe000ae6a25c86-cm00080d5dd484.cpe.net.cable.rogers.com (69.195.70.131):

    ISP/Who = Rogers Communications
    Extra =
    City =
    County =
    State =
    Country = Canada (ca) (60.00,-96.00)
    Domain = com

    Is that your ISP? If so, why do they keep scanning you?

    wow, how'd you find that info?

    either way, could it be possible they are doing routine scans to check vulnerability?

    ive noticed the scans still occur....but not as constant as the last 2 days

    Not sure! Try calling their listed phone numbers in the previous message below and ask them what they are doing. Are they your ISP?

    Have you checked this out yet---- or used it
    Open NIS go to Options> Web Content> Add Site> add the url for the site you want to make a rule for> click User Settings> under Pop-up Ads, uncheck use Ad Blocker Settings and click Permit> click OK. :cool:

    Looks to me like your ISP is port scanning you to see if you have a web server installed. They're contacting you on port 80 with http.

    Does your ISP charge extra if you want to have a web server? If so, this is just them checking to see if you have one running. If not, then you should contact your ISP and ask them what's going on.
