Nmap, Scanning From A Text File?

Need a little help with Nmap. I am attempting to perform a scan from a txt file. The txt file is in the Nmap folder. I am using Win10. Nothing I do will allow the scan because it is saying Failed to resolve "list.lst". So I move it to a folder named Logs on my desktop but I get this - Failed to resolve "C:\Users\Universe\Desktop\Logs\list.lst".

I know in the Nmap properties folder it is write protected but nothing I have done will allow me to change that. I have changed ownership but it says I am the owner. Write protected is ticked but if I untick it and close out then go back in it is ticked again. This is why I put the file on my Desktop.

I believe I am doing everything right but it is just not allowing me to scan from a text no matter what.

 

I never heard of Nmap so I had to do some searching.

Open it and see what it contains.

 

It's not a 1st file but a lst file know as a list file. Basically it is a txt file. I really don't think it matters if you use a .lst file or a .txt file. However I am just so used to using a .lst when it comes to Nmap for some reason. But there isn't a difference in my mind.

 

You're using the command nmap -iL list.lst and the targets in the list are reachable from your network?

 

Check that the targets within your txt file are correctly presented.
Separated by a new line etc.
