No administrater!!!

    Hi, I'm new to this and need some help. I have a 2nd computer I picked up. I tried to change the administrater to my name and I now have no administrater. Thus when XP loads my desktop does not load/show. I have tried several things to try and load via safe mode but can't get to safe mode either! I believe XP has loaded but no desktop to do anything. Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Are we to assume that this new computer did not come with an XP cd?
    What version of XP is it?
    Do you have an XP cd of the same version ..and is there a label on this new one that has the Key on it?

    This is a used computer running XP Home and no disc. I did borrow a disc but it seemed to load but didn't come up on my screen.

    What didn't come up on the screen? Can you get into the bios when you start it up? Did you not get a message to "press any key to boot from disc"? Is this a desktop computer...what make/model?
    You need to provide us with as much info about this new system as possible.
