No administrator!

    Hi, I'm new to this and need some help. I have a 2nd computer I picked up. I tried to change the administrater to my name and I now have no administrater. Thus when XP loads my desktop does not load/show. I have tried several things to try and load via safe mode but can't get to safe mode either! I believe XP has loaded but no desktop to do anything. :cry Thanks for any help you can provide.
