No Audio Device

I have A dell Inspiron 1300 Service tag HQW65B1 I have the same problem as jerber ( http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1438153#post1438153 )
I have tried everything originally device manager said I needed "microsoft winmm wdm audio compatibility driver" I looked everywhere and all I got were updates I didnt need "thanks mocrosoft" so I've been checking posts and forums and like jerber I've seen all the same suggestions an I've tried them all, I wiped my OS and RE-installed It went from xp home to xp pro, no audio ever since, Im a student in CNS and Im con-****in-fused I've tried all the basics I do know my way around a computer and I cant get it, I need my damn sound, without it I may throw this thing away......HEEELLLLLLPPPPPP!!!!!!!!

Hi

Its very likely that you need as you have re-installed Windows XP is to install the Chipset driver from HERE then reboot and install the UAA Driver from HERE (dont know what service pack you have installed as you dont mention this) then install the Audio driver from HERE.
