    Hi

As thats a skin for Windows in the image, what version of Windows are you using and what service pack? (windows version and service pack used is a crucial piece of info as it will determin what course of action maybe needed)

Check in Services that the Windows Audio Service is Started and set to Automatic, also check in Device Manager for any yellow ! marks and if you have any what are they next too?

What you could try is to from here and choose your Windows version from the options, is to download and install the Chipset driver and then reboot, then install the Audio driver.

In addition to Halo's suggestions, check your BIOS to insure that your onboard audio is enabled. If you unknowingly have a sound card installed, you may not need the Realtek driver, and you may need to simply plug the speakers in to a different green jack on the rear of the PC.

(I'm not trying to infer that you don't know what type of sound you have, but many people have sound cards in addition to on-board audio, and they don't know it LOL )
