How is the audio output hooked up?

    Are these installed?

    Intel INF driver
    Realtek audio driver
Microsoft UAA Function Driver for High Definition Audio

Is the volume tuned up in windows & speakers?

Audio is "hooked up" as Desktop Speakers from a rear audio plug.

    Status of these items:
Intel INF driver : Not sure if installed. see screen shots
Realtek audio driver : Installed (AUD_ALLOS_5.10.0.5129_PV_UAA1.0.EXE)
Microsoft UAA Function Driver for High Definition Audio : Installed, see screen shot

windows & speaker volume is: ON & turned up

Okay from the EVEREST report we can see the motherboard has a 915 Chipset, this link will take you to there DL page but I dont know your OS:

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=1765&lang=eng

From there we can get your Chipset Drivers and see if we can update and or install these.

Have you explored your Volume Control at all (bottom right hand corner) and also looking at Sounds and Audio Devices in the Control panel?

Just for grins and giggles since no one else mention this. Check and make sure the windows audio service is running. Hit your windows key, then goto run, type in services.msc. Almost all the way at the bottom you'll see windows audio. Make sure that it is set to automatic and that it is started....

    Hi lcsmith39,
Services local shows: Windows Audio > Started > Automatic

    Thanx

    Hello plodr
Yes, there is/was a thread going in Software.
But after 8 days of no reply (now 14 days) I wasn't sure what to think so I decided to try the Hardware Forum. Rationalizing that this could be a hardware issue.
    I do appreciate the help!

    @ Stutzphat
Sorry, but I went on vacation. On my return this thread was here and I thought I'd watch to see if anyone had better suggestions than I gave you.
If you want to continue in the old thread, I will re-read it and post there in the morning.
I believe it does have something to do with your ATI.

Well gonna got out on a limb and suggest a full (Audio) Driver clean and re-install.......after clean goto MS Update and see if they note anything please before installing the latest HD Audio Driver.

    DL and install:

    Driver Cleaner Professional

Uninstall Realtek HD, re boot and then run DCP, goto Driver Cab and start then close when it finishes then goto Realtek HD Audio driver and remove it, reboot, goto MS Update and look at Hardware (if MS comes up saying "New Hardware" found just cancel), just take a note of what MS offers for Hardware. Reinstall latest Realtek HD drivers (save them in a folder on desktop for ease). Reboot and check your sound, have a look in Device Manager as well.

    Hi musksnipe
    Welcome back from vacation
I'm up for any help here. Bold Eagle's drive clean>reinstall>update sounds like a plan. I'll give it a go in the AM.

Don't do that yet. Take a look at the other thread. Realtek is showing in your device Manager, although it shows different then I have seen before. It may just be a matter of setting your Default playback device properly.
