no audio on a ml3109 notebook

    i know i'm going to catch some crap for installing xp on a vista notebook. but this thing sucks on vista 1/2gb ram, so vista had to go. i tried everything to get the segmatel high definition audio codec. i read your forum, so i used the everest report suggested which i am posting... i hope u guys can help...

    Hi

    Always a harder thing to try and downgrade at times and it maybe a bit of trial and error, but try the following


    Install the UAA Driver HERE, then the Audio from Packard Bell HERE (this may or may not work)


    Would urge to get lastest Service Pack for XP as well.

    alright the drivers work but now it just don't have sound. all driver are there it say what do i do know

    Hi

    Check in Services that the Windows Audio service is Started and its Startup Type is set ti Automatic and reboot, then double check in Audio Properties that the sound is not muted and the correct playback device is picked.

    Do you have any other yellow ! marks in Device Manager and what Service Pack do you have installed now? may need at least SP2 as the UAA drivers are for SP2 and above.
