No Audio Output Device Installed

Lenovo ideapad 100S – 32 bit Windows Home

After a year with no issues, I no longer have sound. Below is the message I see when hoovering over the volume icon:

no audio output device installed

Here's what I have done... all to no avail.

Checked Device Manager... Sound... Realtek l2S Audio Codec... working properly
Uninstalled driver and re-booted
Visited manufacturer website and downloaded/installed latest driver... rebooted
Checked Device Manager... Sound... Action>Add legacy hardware>Next>Search&Install>Next>(didn't find any new hardware)>Next(scrolled to Sound)>Next(scrolled to Microsoft)High Definition Audio Settings>Next( Add Hardware – The wizard is ready to install hardware)>Next

RESULTS:

Completing the Add Hardware Wizard
The following hardware was not installed:
Sound, video and game controllers
An error occurred during the installation of the device.
The parameter is incorrect.


Also ran Malwarebyttes, SuperAntispyware and the registry cleaner in ccleaner.

Other than no sound this past week, laptop works fine. Any ideas?

Which version of Windows are you using?

Look in Services.
Windows Audio
Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
Ensure the Startup type is set to Automatic and they are started.

 

Resolved.

As it turns out, I missed a driver at Lenovo's website. Downloaded and installed their driver. Everything is now normal. Thanks
