    Hi,
I need to know the exact model of your laptop as I am getting over 140 hits for dv6700 ?? take a look here... http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...indModel&cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c00033108&lc=en
it shows how to locate the exact model # .
Also could you run speccy as it will give me more inf about your machine than what everest does.....

Download the free, Speccy http://majorgeeks.com/Speccy_d6358.html then run Speccy and click File > Save as Text File, then attach the log as per instructions below (note: as Speccy also now lists more data it likely will have your Windows licence serial key also in the log, so look for Operating System and under that Serial Number and delete the code and Save the log)

Then attach your log to your next post as per these instructions http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=86880

    Hi spock

What you can also do if you cannot locate the exact model of DV6700 (the sticker underneath should show a few codes that may help eg. DV6702us or similar) is to run the Product Detector HERE

Also tell us what devices in Device Manager have yellow ! mark by them and this will aid us getting all your devices working.

CD/DVD drive could be a broken one as generally Windows own built in drivers will run this device, so maybe a little background may help also, has this PC had Windows re-installed, have you had or been cleaning up from malware, or has this all just stopped working?

Here is one possible solution for your sound...

Right click on my computer>>click manage>>select device manager>>expand the 'Sound, video and game controllers' section>>double click on the Realtek High Definition Audio>>when the properties box opens click the driver tab>>click disable then enable
