Autorun is enabled on all drives, but yet when I insert a DVD, nothing happens. For that matter, if I insert anything at all, USB, CD, DVD, nothing happens. I get no prompts. I'd really like to fix this. Thanks for your help.

So if I understand, when you plug in a USB device (drive or stick) you get no popup about a new hardware device found and if you put a CD or a DVD into your internal drive, nothing happens.
Does the optical drive appear in My Computer?

That is correct. Yes, the drives will show up. And I can manually open or play. However, I'd rather the prompt window come up.
