I recieved my new computer today and spent the afternoon putting the components together, but when I turn it on, there's no beep and the display wont turn on.

    Here are my specs:
AMD FX 8core 4ghz black edition
    Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3
    Asus radeon r9 270
    2x8gb corsair vengeance ddr3
    850w powercool psu
    2tb seagate hdd
    Dvd-rw sata
    Aero cool xstrike mid tower

This was not the first time ive built a computer from scratch, but last time i did was 5 years ago.
So, as I said, i cant hear the beeps when you turn on the computer, at first i did not connect the 8pin eatx12v. But even after connecting it, the problem still persists... No beeps and no display. I can hear the hdd starting up as well as the fans all work and the LEDs so Im assuming the motherboard is getting power. However, gpu's dual fans are kinda sluggish, stopping at some times then spinning again.

I've done some troubleshooting taking first the gpu out and turn my pc back on. No beeps... Next I took out the memory, still no beeps. After that, i took out both hdd and dvd-rw satas and psu connections, still no beeps. I finally finished by taking out the cpu and turn it on. "Now its gotta beep" I thought… wrong. No beep. Nothing. Just pretty lights and spinning fans.

All components were new, arrived earlier today.

    What can it be?

Ah, and just now i disconnected everything and just leave the cpu on, still no beeps. This should have beeped, right? Could it be a faulty mobo?

If you haven't already, try physically clearing the CMOS either using the jumper (see manual) or remove the battery for a few seconds. Make sure the RAM is seated properly. Also make sure all the power connections to the motherboard and the extra cpu 4pin are connected and seated.

Sadly, most cases don't come with system speakers any more because motherboard makers started integrating tiny "button" piezoelectric speakers on their boards - but not on all their boards! :( And when I scan over the image of your board here, I don't see one. This is why I keep a supply of these on hand.

So, first, are you sure you have a speaker to hear the beeps?

Are you 200% sure you don't have any extra standoffs or foreign objects under the motherboard? Does your graphics card require additional power connectors? Many do, and if so, are they connected?

Did you verify your CPU and RAM are listed on the board's QVL (qualified venders list)? You must buy a listed CPU but there are too many RAM makers and models for board makers to test them all. So you don't have to buy listed RAM but you do need to buy RAM with the same specs as listed RAM.

Did you ensure proper ESD precautions when handling the board, RAM, CPU and cards?

If me, I would pull the motherboard and place it on a breadboard or unfinished cardboard and reassemble it with the CPU and CPU cooler connected to the CPU fan header, the graphics card and monitor, 1 stick of RAM, and the PSU. No drives. You should see on the monitor POST and the initial boot process where it should halt when it cannot find a boot drive.

Yeah, nice one. It doesn't seem to come with any sort of speakers to produce the beeps, that and the vga to dvi adapter that I bought was causing it to not show a display. Since I was hearing no beeps, I automatically thought there was something wrong. So when I swapped the adapter with the one that came with the GPU, it started working just fine, just no beeps.

Been there. Knowing now there is no speaker, I recommend you go buy one of those I linked to above. All motherboards, including yours, has the required case speaker connection located in the front panel I/O header (where you connected the front panel power and reset buttons, and the power and HD LEDs). That tiny, single beep letting you know your system passed POST is really reassuring.
