I have 2 laptops, a new compac and an older one. Both were working fine and yesterday the old one said that there was limited or no connectivity. TYhe new one is 2 feet away and both use the same router. A lynksys fed from the verizon internet box. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I went through your steps and I have the same results. The icon shows all bars are green but it says "limited or no connectivity".

also just try to power cycle your router. unplug it for a minute or so and plug it back in. that sometimes fixes stuff.

Thanks for helping. I entered the ipconfig/all and got the following error "windows can not find ipconfig/all. And i have tried rebooting the router. The newlaptop is recieving the signal from the router and has no trouble getting to the internet.

Sometimes just disabling the wireless and then re-enabling will fix it. There may be a button or slider on the front that you an toggle.
