    what have you tried? how are you connected, wired or wireless? xp or vista? turn firewall off while troubleshooting as well.

    first thing you can try real quick is this:
    start - run - type cmd - enter
    type ipconfig/release - enter
    ipconfig/renew - enter

    King I have 2 laptops one has vista and the other XP. I have verizon dsl that feed to a lynksys wireless router. A few days ago, both laptops were woorking fine. Then the XP gave the error " limited or no connectivity". I did as you suggested and ran ipconfig/release enter and ipconfig/renew. this that follows is what the command stated after hitting the enter button.

    I typed ipconfig/release then it said;

    Windows IP Configuration

    No operation can be performed on local Area Connection while it has it's media diconnected.

    Ethernet adaptor Local Area Connections:
    Media State..........................Media disconnected
    Ethernet adaptor Wireless Network Connection 2
    Connection-specific Dns Suffix..........:(blank)
    Ip Address..........................: 0.0.0.0
    Subnet mask.......................: 0.0.0.0
    Default Gateway..................: 0.0.0.0

    then typed ipconfig/renew and it said this;

    Windows IP Configuration

    No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has it's media disconnected.
    An error occured while renewing Interface Wireless Network Connection 2 :
    Unable to contact your DHCP server.

    I hope this can give some insite.

    Thanks for everyone help. I copied a download of explorer 7 sp2 and overwrited the eplorer and it seems to be working fine. I am not sure if the problem came from using the registry cleaner that I downloaded here. As of now it is working fine.
