I ran Everest on my machine and I came across this:
Problem No CPU L2 cache found. This may cause performance penalty.
Whaat does this mean is this an original machine design problem?
My computer specs are as follows:

Erm, huh? What is your computer? The only processors I know if that had no L2 cache were the really old Celerons (that were out-performed by 486's).

Here's an article that might help you understand L2 cache.

On some motherboards, you can disable the L2 cache. You might want to go into your BIOS and check if you have that option. If it's disabled, you can enable it.

I have old IBM PC with an AMD K6-2 333mhz cpu it does not have L2 cache, nor does yours.

    Re: copy and paste strangeness

That's what happens when I "copy and paste" too -- I see that it has copied -- but if you hit "preview post" or "submit reply" the copied material disappears and all those silly <FONT...> stuff comes up. I've saved info. as WORD documents, text files, I've highlighted what I've pasted in the post and then gone up to the font choices of that posted and changed it to make it seem like it's "original" with that post...

I know this isn't a "hardware" question...but it's happened so many times and I was reading this and saw it here...any ideas.

(Psst! Processors that old didn't have on-die L2 cache.)

It probably has something to do with the message board. It may not know what the Arial Unicode MS font is so it can't translate it into HTML.

Nope, got it figured out. The board uses different tags than HTML to change the fonts. You have to use the square brackets like this:
    "<FONT=Arial]undefined[/FONT]" Except substitute a [ for the <

Well, it could be that Everest is just wrong.

However, you might pop the case open and see if the L2 chip is even there. I can't be certain, but I think the chip I outlined in red below is the L2 chip.

I popped open the case and yes that one is there. I am having preformance issues. But I don't know if it's related to this. Also Everest says AGP status is disabled

Older celerons had no L2 cache the older slot 1 CPUs any way. I need to read B 4 i post

Just out of curiosity what OS are you running? Everest might not correctly recognize such ancient hardware. You could try some other programs such as Sandra and see what you get.

If they all agree that you have no L2 cache then your mobo might be going bad.
