I consider myself expert level when it comes to computers or the internet. However I got a "head banging on the wall" problem, could sure use help. Thanks for all repies in advance.

I can not recieve internet activity(web page dwnlds). I have the IP address and the configuation correct. I have tried Winsock and have "pinged" my connection(all good). Checked the firewall, allowed the
browser exception, ran complete spyware, virus and rootkills in safe mode(Nada is found). On my other computers I have the internet, so I know my WAP is good. However on my mainframe box running XP Pro, SP2 (current in patches), I have no downlink from the web. I can uplink.

Please give me some T/S hints on this problem.I this some malicious software? I use majorgeeks for all my downloads, and I trust them.

I'm assuming this means you can upload, but cannot download?

I can't download anything because I have connection to the net, but no internet. Ok, let explain in more detail. When I open the LAN status window drop box, all I can see is "sending" activity, not "receiving" activity. I have tried many different IP addresses configs but to no avail.

I'm assuming you're using DSL/cable/broadband. Yes? Are you going thru a router? Are other PC's going thru the same router? If so, do the other PC's upload and download OK? What OS are you running; XP, Vista, '98, ME, 2000? Have you contacted your ISP about the problem?

Thxs the response, hopperdave2000. Ok, now for the details. I'm not using ADSL or ground feed Cat5 cabling for source, but rather an wireless WAP.(Cat5 from the antennea, direct feed). In this country this is the "norm". I have a weak 20 DBi signal direct to my computer's RJ45 port. No router or any switches in the configuation. My other four computers are in the same config but none receieve internet activity except my DELL Inspirion. Yes, I tried the obvious and check all settings and mimiced my DELL for the "working" config, nada. On my "working config" box I'm running XP SP2, auto update off and with ZoneAlarm. Have not contacted the ISP 1) cuz they gave me a better antennea than my contract called for, 2) thier techs know less than I do and 3) later I want to add my LinkSys wireless Router(contracts here consider routers as upgrades and charge more per month). No port forwarding for P2P programs, before you ask. Got any ideas? Sure need some, thanks.
