no dvd in drive

this is probably a easy fix but my dvd rom doesnt show 2 dvd movies in it its only 2 lol it shows all my other ones is there a quick fix i can do or is it the disks??

 

Try other DVD's and see what happens. If it works then those DVD's may be bad.

 

theses are new movies and now this week i got the same problem with 2 NEW movies again they dont show up in my pc it keeps sayin no disk in drive any ideas ??

 

Do you have a cleaning disk for the drive? I've had a DVD-ROM fail to read a new commercial dvd but would still read some old VCD's I had made of home movies and such. A good cleaning corrected the problem.

But . . . I've also got a seperate DVD player (surround sound) that now refuses to read dvd's, but will still play music CD's . . . cleaning didn't help in that case.

Some more information on your system and brand/model of DVD-ROM would assist folks here in helping you troubleshoot the problem.

The good news is that whatever the problem - DVD-ROM drives are getting pretty cheap, and they are easy to replace. Most operating systems from Win98SE on will auto-recognize a new drive - there is little or no software tweaking you need to do. Help is here if it should come to that.
