no ethernet driver after clean install

after i installed windows xp professional sp3 from media center edition (i did format the drive didnt update) i was going to do windows update and notice no internet then i go to the device manager and didnt see the ethernet but just a few question marks on the video, audio, and some others. So now i cant update and get all the stuff it needs and since this pc is a 2005 its difficult to find the drivers.

Specs:
windows xp pro x86 sp3
2.2 ghz 1gb ram
nvidia geforce 6150 le
250gb hdd
sr1950nx (that should bring it up on google)

hp site didnt have the drivers for the ethernet. im hoping to get rid of this pc eventually. i noticed when i booted win7 on it the ethernet worked fine

Try getting the Nvidia chipset driver from the list of 6 original drivers and see if it will install. Then try the LAN driver again.

 

yeah i went to add new hardware went to the folder it said it installed but couldnt start (error code 10) it shows as nvidia network bus enumerator. i even uploaded a pic. also i tried installing the chipset drivers wouldnt install some things wouldnt install like the graphics somethings not right

 

i hate double posting but i installed the 4 items that came with the chipset driver uninstalled lan driver restarted and now it works
