no .exe will run

i just dont get it. my norton ati virus wont auto protect. every i time i try to run the trend micro housecall i get an ie error. and every time i try to run a spy ware remover, or any application, it wont. what do i do?

 

i also cannot remove some url's from my favorites folder. it cant find it

i have windows xp. now its telling me to re install norton but it came with the computer so i have no discs.
trying to run a program i get " windows cannot open this file" do i wnt to look onlin or select from a list
running the housecall i pic my country click go then "iexplorer has encountered an unknown error and will be shut down windows has made a log

 

i got some things going i still cant remove a url from favorites "cannot read source or disc"
and how do i re install norton when it came eith the pc?

you probably have a virus that is targeting NAV and shutting it down.

i ended up having a trojan i pulled out with the trend micro download
but i cant get my .lnk files to open properly my internet shortcuts go nowhere and trillian shortcut goes to notepad with no open with option avail. and if it where what would i use anyway?

 

To reset your .lnk shortcuts:

Open a command prompt (Start > Run > cmd) and type in assoc .lnk=lnkfile

In explorer or any folder go to Tools > Folder Options > File Types > New
type in LNK, click Advanced, select Shortcut from the dropdown, OK, OK
