    Hi Guys,
I am trying to build a new PC from the ground up. I have all the hardware installed ( AMD Sempron 2600, Mach Speed Venom MB, WD 120 gig HD, 512 ram) no problem. Next I boot the system up every thing is there, so far so good. Then I try to format the hard drive, nothing works. I tried Fdisk, formatting for a boot disk, even the data life guard tools from Western digital fail to do anything. so I took the drive out and formatted installed it in my other pc and formatted it there as a NTFS drive, then put it back into my new PC. Windows (XP) still can install on it ,It says no hard disk is found, and to make sure my cables are hooked up right ( I even swapped cables). But you see the Drive shows up in post, so I know the PC can see it! Please help, any advice you can offer would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

Make sure the ports are enabled to wherever you have it plugged into in bios

I have to enable the IDE connectors in the bios? I thought that would default to enabled. I'll check that out, thanks.

As far as I can tell, everything seems to be enabled. I does show up in the bios and everything, it just won't let me access it, any other ideas?
