no hard drive detected and promise raid controller

Greetings All,
I have an Asus A8V Deluxe mobo with 2 160 gb hard drives set in a raid 0 set up on the promise raid controller...has been fully functional but now i am getting an error that no hard drive detected and then it says to press f1...then says to put boot disk in drive and press a key...anyone have an idea what's up? I have gotten the boot disk error message prior to this when I reboot the computer versus shutdown and restart...it'll say that the hard drive array is offline and not functional...is there any way to recover the info? reinstall the drivers? thanks for any help you can give.... as I have no current backup...

 

If one of the drives has died there absolutely no chance of getting back the data,check there isnt a floppy disk or cdrom inserted,check bios settings and make sure raid array is set as first boot device,check that the raid controller is enabled and the raid array settings are enabled

 

My bios settings are "onboard promise controller" enabled, "operating mode" raid mode, "boot device priority" 1st floppy disk and 2nd dvd...there is no option to choose array....
It appears that I might need to reinstall my drivers for the array??

Funny thing is when I plug my computer in it boots up rather than just cycles the power...could it be the power supply (antec smart power 400)??

 

Unfortunately I havnt had any experience with a raid0 array so I cant offer up much more advice on how to recover from an undetected Master boot record 'which is what seems to be happening'

Usually only very cheap psu's start computers up when you connect them to the AC,Antec are a quality make its a little perplexing as to why thats happening

Are both drives detected in bios

 

neither of my drives are detected even when i hit the tab key to go into the raid bios...
