no iconsor task bar on desktop (just wallpaper)

    i have no task bar or icons on my xp pc, and really need some help?
    has any1 had this problem. or would know how to fix it please let me know thank you.

    Press ctrl+alt+del and and open the task manager
    click the processes tab and see if explorer.exe is running if it is not running that is mostlikely your problem.

    if it is not running
    click the applications tab
    click the new task button
    and enter in 'explorer' in the run menu
    and press ok.
    see if that fixes it

    thanks for the reply. explorer.exe is running. but still no taskbar or icons.
