So I decided to open up a very old laptop with no label on it but the word NoteBook on the cover. I wanted to try making it into a keyboard computer. Now maybe something broke in my move, but the last time I used it I had no issue, now I have nothing.

I unscrewed everything and removed the case. I took off the keyboard, HD, battery, speakers, battery connector, floppy drive, and touch pad. When I plug in the ac adapter the fan spins but I get no picture from the screen or an external monitor. I feel there is some power issue but I honestly don't know at this point. Any ideas? Do you need more info?

When you hooked up the external did you hit the Fn key and the F key that corresponds to switching to external monitor? (usually a little monitor icon on the key.)

If you take out all the RAM do you get a long error beep?
