No internet access when connected to network

Hi there,
I live in a house with 1desktop, 2 laptops, 1internet tv and 6 internet connected devices. All of these work with our network expect for my laptop. Its a Compaq Presario CQ60, and can connect to the network but only has local access
After hours of searching, so far I have tried:
-starting Wired something through computer manage then settings (which is apparently the same as Windows Zero Conn)
-trying to get new IP setting, which didnt work as it said it was not able to connect to the media through LAN or wireless
-turning everything off and on numerous times

It can connect to the network but not the internet. I am not very computer literate, and really need a solution! The problem first occured when i deleted some applications - no idea what - and still continued after a factory restore :cry Apparently i should copy and paste a code to add to this post off my computer but i have no idea what or how to do this?

Windows 7 or Vista?

What does "factory restore" mean? Did you reinstall the operating system back to the way it came to you from the "factory"?

When you got the screen that said, "what kind of network do you have HOME, WORK or PRIVATE" how did you answer?

 

By mean your laptop has local access, can you connect your laptop to other devices in the network ? Or can you ping other devices from your laptop ?

Can you assign a static IP address on your laptop (in the same IP range by the router) and try to connect to the network ?

What IP address your laptop shows while performing ipconfig on command prompt ?
