No internet after XP install HELP!!

I recently did a clean XPhome srvpk 1 install on my Dell xps laptop. Since then, I can barely use Firefox and not IE at all. It takes several attempts and I get "server not found" errors continually. It takes 10 minutes from page to page. I have gone thru all of the troubleshooting with my ISP and I have a good connection but my computer just isnt responding. I am not using the wireless and I have loaded all of the drivers from the Dell website twice. I have one yellow mark in other devices and I dont know what it is. No firewall and will not work in safe mode. I am at a complete loss and my brain hurts! I keep thinking it might be a driver problem but I dont know which one. Please help!!
