no internet connection

Hi. I have just built my first computer and had a great time doing it. The computer seems to working ok. I am having a few problems I hope I can get some help with? 1 windows xp only sees 126 mg of my 250 mg hard drive.
2 When I try to connect I get the yellow triangle limmited/no connection.
I am running win XP with I think sp2 on it.I will update when I get connected
hopefully. Also a Netgear WGR614V6 router.My old HP has no problems.

Thermaltake TR2-430W power supply
Western Digital WD2500ks hard drive
Asus A8N-VM/CSM motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3500 d939 CPU
Crucial Ballistix PC3200 512MB DDR400 unbuffered ram

As far as internet goes, do the following on your HP.

1. Start
2. Run
3. cmd
4. ipconfig

Then get the following info

IP Address
Subnet Mask
Default Gateway

They will all be a set of numbers.
