no internet connectivity

All of a sudden, my PC (running XP) won't connect to the internet. It connects to the local network without a problem and all of the other computers on the network have no internet issues.

I ran a few tools: Super antispyware (found a lot of cookies, but nothing else), Avast antivirus (no hits), and ran the cc cleaner. I also use PC tools firewall plus, but that seem to have no effect whether enabled or disabled.

Using this forum, i found the winsock fix utility and that worked. But, almost every day, the internet drops again, i run the utility, and it is fine.

Can someone help me figure out what is going on?

thanks, i'll look at it. My connection, however, is not wireless, but ethernet.

 

still need some help here. Everyday I have to run the winsock utility in order to get internet connection. Every other computer in the house and on the same network is connecting with no problem.

This has been working fine for year, the problem started suddenly this week.

 

Try to reset TCP/IP

Go to START > RUN type CMD and OK.

In the command window type

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
