No internet over Wifi

Heya,

I have a Level one router, model No. WBR-3408.
I recently switched from a DSL connection to cable, since then I have no internet transmitted over the Wifi, but I do get network access via network cables.

I reset the router, set up a new L2TP connection, inserted the server name address, user name and password. Then the router connected, but I had no connection (neither with a wired connection). When I removed and reinserted the network cable to my PC - I suddenly had web access. Works great.

The problem is I can't "remove" the wireless connection.

I say gain, I do have internet access through the router, and it does transmit Wifi, but all wireless devices can't acceess the internet over it.

There is no WEP or WPA security (turned it off for testing).

Any thoughts?

It sounds like your modem is working fine and when you connect your pc you are working, but your router setup isn't correct and your router can't access the web.

What indication did you get that the router did have internet access? From the other symptoms it doesn't sound like it does. Will it upgrade firmware or is it doing something else that shows it has internet access even though you can't get access?

 

Can your laptop connect to any other wireless connections?

What OS are you using on the laptop?
