No Internet

I have an HP Pavillion notebook. It's a ze2315us. The power cord was jerked out of it and it damaged the input on the power connector board. I replaced the power connector board and that works great now. The problem is that now I cannot connect to the internet wireless or ethernet. It was working fine before the power connector board was replaced. I used the exact factory part ordered from HP. Where would you guys suggest I begin in troubleshooting this problem?

Strange. Last night I uninstalled network adapters and rebooted. On boot the notebook recognized the internet connection but had an exclamation point. When I checked status it said that the network did not assign a network address to the computer - limited or no connectivity. When i run cmd and ipconfig /all it lists an ip address and subnet mask but no default gateway or dns.

 

Did you also dislodge the aerial connectors off the wifi board? They are like tiny press studs.

 

Your default Gateway is the same as your ip address except the last digit becomes a 1
ie: 192.168.0.1

However most systems use dynamic ip addresses, where the router assigns your computer an ip address.
You should be able to access and modify your settings, if your personal needs dictate a static address.
Start>Control Panel>Network Connections

1. Double click on the wireless network connection
2. Click properties
3. Scroll down and double click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
4. Either set to "Obtain an IP address automatically" or insert your own settings
