Had a malware problem but managed to rid pc of this using your great forums

Now have internet problems, Everything on PC works fine but cannot connect to internet. looked in device manager and all options under the network adapters has a yellow flag.Tried to update/rollback drivers but nothing. Dloaded new drivers tried the same but still nothing happened.

When i start up PC a popup informs me that:

TCP/IP Network Transport is not installed ( im not sure what one of these are)

I installed an old network card to see if this helped but still came back with yellow flags and no internet.

    Pleae help

You need to reinstall the TCP/IP software for your operating system.

This article from Microsoft may help you.

    Ok please do this.

    ****************************************************************************************************
    Start > run > MRT

You could get a updated version of this software here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=AD724AE0-E72D-4F54-9AB3-75B8EB148356&displaylang=en

Just to be sure there's no still basic malware.

    ****************************************************************************************************

Now, about your drivers there could be a couple of things in this case if you already removed malware and the NIC Card isn't broken; a recently service pack installed or incorrectly driver installed.

    ****************************************************************************************************
You could try to install manually the drivers, it's a bit risky in the way that you'll recieve a possible BSDO (Blue Screen of Death) if you choose the incorrect drivers.

So there's two ways,if you are sure that you have the correct drivers and continue with the procedure below or tell me the model of your NIC Card using Everest software and i'll help you to find the drivers out.

I suggest you install manually because if you're only running a soft that does "Next > Next > Installed" maybe windows keeps recognizing incorrectly or damaged drivers.

    ****************************************************************************************************
    Procedure to install manually;
Do this at your own risk, MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, IF YOU AREN'T SURE PLEASE DON'T DO IT
    ****************************************************************************************************
    Start > run > devmgmt.msc

Select the Main (first one) of your NIC Card with the yellow (!) exclamation mark, "not the rest of items below it".

Right clic on the device, propierties.

Update driver > I select the device or driver manually (last option)> select "Network Card" > next screen you will be able to choose manually the driver searching in folders.

Maybe you recieve a warning advice, just go on and clic in "Continue".

Restart and check there's not any longer that yellow marks (!).

Excuses for my ugly english, still learning.

    Hope it works.:zzz

    2. - http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;310123&x=6&y=13

Is a short review about error codes, search the 39.

You know, I had this problem once on my home after reinstalling the TCP stack.

Try creating another user profile in Windows and see if you can get the internet with that, if you can, there is your answer.

If not, I would try Combofix. I did that in a situation like yours and it fixed everything. You might have something still fecking things up.

I had a similar problem once. Did all the winsock, IP resets. No help.

Then I happened across the word "proxy" in one of the scans I had run.

Went to the tools, internet options, connections, lan, sure enough, use proxy server was checked!

Problem was solved immediately. If you haven't already, take a look.

Also, from a command prompt, can you ping an address?

Seems a bit weird that a proxy makes yellows exclamations on hardware devices no?

I want to know how this will be solved truly :p

    You're right about that.

But I always try to explore all the options, seems like every case is different, can get frustrating to be sure!

Still curious about a ping result, and an ipconfig /all result may also be helpful.

    Fair Winds.
