No Mixer Device! Please help i want to cry

So i got SP3 last night, i reformatted my computer, installed all the
audio drivers and now i'm getting this..

Everything installed and working properly, so i don't see a volume
control icon at the bottom right.. so i go to Start > Etc
Entertainment and Click on volume and i get this error message...

"There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer
devices, Go to Control Panel and Other Hardware, and then click ADD
HARDWARE."

What!?!? in device manager its showing all sound is working properly
and i'm using the intergraded sound built onto the motherboard!


I all ready tried this and it didn't work...


Go to Start --> Run, and type in services.msc.

A window will pop up with a list of services. Scroll down to Windows
Audio. Right-click
and click on Properties.

Make sure that "Startup type" is set to automatic. Also, make sure,
under "Service
status," start is selected.

Any ideas?

 

Did you install your audio drives before or after installing sp3?
Try reinstalling your audio drivers and see if that helps.

 

I installed SP3 then did the computer drivers, they all installed and show working properly, i just built this computer the sound is inter graded on the motherboard so not sure why it wouldn't be showing up.

 

Did you install the chipset drivers for your motherboard before installing the audio drivers?
If you have Realtek HD Audio, make sure you have the MS UAA installed.

You might try uninstalling your SP3, then installing your audio. (If you have have Realtek, you need to uninstall the driver through Add/Remove Programs)

Supply us with this info, if that doesn't fix your sound, and maybe we can help
A make and model # would help if your PC is not a home built.

Use Everest to get a report of your system’s hardware, OS, and drivers. Upload the report as an attachment

When Everest is done scanning, click "Report" at the top of the Everest window, click next to get to "Report Profile", select "Hardware related pages", click next, select "Plain Text", click "Finish". Then when it is done processing, click "Save To File". Save it where you want to. (I would use Desktop.)
Click "Go Advanced" in the MG reply box, scroll down a little way until you see "Manage Attachments", click it, browse to your file, click "Upload", and close the window. Then submit the post. You may have to also type something in the reply box, like, "Here's my report.", so that it will submit.

 

Just one thought did you enable on board sound in your bios?

 

bro we have same problem before...


i just tried this one and my sound card now is working...

uninstall first your realtek from add/remove program
then download the latest version of chipset for your motherboard
and install it before reinstalling your realtek from the cd...
