No onboard LAN

Home built ASUS A8N-E, S939 Venice 3000+, 1GB PC3200, N6200TC vid card.

Everything else works great! I tried the drivers on the supplied CD, the newest ASUS drivers, 6.66 and the nVidia nForce4 AMD 6.66 international. I'm dual booting XP x32 and x64 and I have the same problem in both. Network connections shows the LAN is working properly, I have changed the ethernet cable from my cable modem and when I connect my NIC, I get a network cable unplugged icon for the LAN. Also, the properties screen shows everything as working properly. I just hope it's just something stupid that I've done or overlooked. TIA.

 

Does thje internet work on other computers? If it doesnt, then you may have not provided your ISP with your modems MAC number.

Also, it MAY be a faulty LAN port, the ethernet cable may need to be changed, you may need to restart your router and modem (unplug for 10 min, plug modem in and then router, and it resets it, should work)

 

I unplugged my cable modem for 10 minutes and poof! there it was. Thank you so much for your help sleepygamer213.

Yea, you might have that problem more often... Sometimes you wont be able to renew your ip address (something the router does) and you wont be able to get on the net. so you unplug and plug them both back in and it comes on! I have the same problem stinkin linksys router.
