No One Lives Forever 2 update promblems

I just got NOLF 2 and went online to download the 1.3 update file. After downloading the file, I tried to install it, and it says that the file executable that I am installing is corrupted, and to get a new copy of the file. I downloaded the damn file 5 other times form different sites, and the same thing happens. I went ahead and downloaded and installed the 1.2 update, and it worked fine. Now I'm having the same problem with the Empire Earth update. I couldn't get help on sierra's website, so I'm hoping someone here can help. I also have another problem with Empire Earth. When the game starts up, I can't see any words, and the when I move the mouse, it just leaves trails all over the screen. Can anyone help? Thanks
