No option for Vista SP1...?

    Good Morning,

    I have two PCs running Vista (one Ultimate the other Home Premium). I've read various threads referanceing SP1 and most are positive. So I thought I'd try it out on one of the machines...

    ...but I don't see it as being an available update on either PC. Should Windows Update see it at least an Option? Or do I have to download it seperately from MS?

    This update is slowing coming out on WU, mainly as their still are some issues with specific drivers so if your PCs have any of these drivers then SP1 will not appear for downloading, until the drivers are updates or even released from the 3rd parties, see this KB for info http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=948343#method5 ( Cause 5 ) as you'll notice that the drivers affected are all the most common Audio ones.

    Check for updates from your PC makers site on driver updates.


    Yes there is a full SP1 download, but if you have a driver that could cause issues then you may hit a whole host of more problems going this route.
