Does anything come up on the screen?
Has your friend flashed or otherwise messed with the bios in anyway?
Does anything smell south of cheese?

You never answered if someone tried updating the BIOS, perhaps unsuccessfully. That could do it.

If nothing comes up on the screen, than it may be the Motherboard or Processor like you said.

Bios has not been touched. He is a friend and I know he doesn't know how to flash a bios and he wouldn't attempt it anyway. I know it isn't the hard drive because if you unplug the IDE on one you should get an error when doing so and you will still get a display on your monitor. So it must be either the processor or the mobo from what i can tell.
