how did the microsoft windows 98se english installation auto selected the portuguese keyboard and regional settings?

i mean... how can windows know that i am in portugal and have a portuguese keyboard layout...?

format c:
f:\setup.exe
this means old version is removed (format c before i setup the new english version.

I'm sorry man, but Windows doesn't magically set something like that, unless maybe you have a program in a different language.

 

I don't suppose it's anything in BIOS is it? Never looked at machines from abroad before, but I always assumed their BIOS was in English.

 

could be the setup program detected it automatically from somthing.

Its not really much of an issue really, because its just going to be somthing to ease setup a bit. Be thankful that your not installing a linux distro where a lot less is automatically detected!
